Books are undoubtedly one of the most important invention of the civilization. Famous American Academic Charles W. Eliot wrote “Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.” Books always give us new information, knowledge or experience. But, there are too many books written in so many languages. One will not be able to read all of them in a lifetime. Whatever your discipline or area of interest I think these are the books you should try to read in a lifetime. The problem of making a list of the best book is that no one would ever read all the books to make a list of the best one. So I am making the list keeping it in mind that no list is correct. So, you are welcome to disagree me. But, if you find anything to add let me know it in the comment. One last thing, if you find any of these books not worthy of your time do not indulge yourself into it. Just skip it, you may try these later.
